Bristol prop Jason Hobson has retired from rugby following medical advice.
The 31-year-old, who was in his second spell with the Championship club, made one senior international appearance for England
He told the
“The decision was not one that I took lightly but I’ve been informed that my body can no longer compete at this level.
“It has been an honour to pull on the jersey and represent this club over the last ten years.”
The former Exeter Chiefs player recently underwent surgery and the later years of his career were
Hobson made over 100 appearances for Bristol,
after a spell
He won the club’s Player’s Player of the Year award in 2012.
“To mean something to the club, to play with your mates and put your body on the line for Bristol is a great feeling,” added Hobson.
“I’ve been welcomed everywhere I go in the city, played with some legends and made some lifelong friends.”
